It is with a glowing heart that I announce the Canadian release of my debut album Waitin’ and Seein’ on January 25th! The album was released in Australia on November 19th and the boys and I are flying out this Monday to spend 6 weeks in Oz. We will be landing in Vancouver on January 10th for a few days and then scooting over to Toronto from January 12th-17th.

Hello friends!

I must admit I find it a little strange that my debut album will be available in Sydney, Australia before Sydney, Cape Breton! Alas, that’s the beauty of this “trip”, you never know what will happen, when or where. I am super stoked to be touring Australia in December. I think Christmas should always be spent on the beach. I have had my fill of snowbanks and -35 windchills!

This time we will be touring with the killer rock duo The Fumes. It’s going to be awesome. I will FINALLY have my record for sale! Anyone living in Australia can download my debut album “Waitin’ and Seein”on iTunes Novemeber 19th.

I am feeling the love! Thanks a bunch for all the lovely comments regarding the tracks and the album art. I thought I would let you in on how we decided on the cover. We used www.crowdspring.com a website where people from all over the world can enter their submissions for various types of graphic design projects. We had over 200 submissions for the album artwork! After a week of reviewing the entries there were a few that stuck out, but I wasn’t shouting out “THAT’S THE ONE!” I was getting a little freaked out. I thought that maybe we should just go with a headshot and the title of the record written on me from shoulder to shoulder. The next day I woke up and there was an entry from a young lady in Sao Paulo, Brazil whose name was Priscila Floriano. I almost fell over when I saw the artwork. It was exactly the idea that came to me the night before, all the way from a stranger in Brazil! I was blown away and took that coincidence as a major sign, and voila! I have album art. Many thanks to Priscila, amazing stuff!

I am very excited to let you all know that we won the HMV Next Big Thing Battle of the Bands!! We will be heading to London, England in February for our showcase. Many thanks to Music Nova Scotia for another wonderful opportunity and all of the fabulous bands who shared the stage with us that night. I have been playing these “Battles” for almost 17 years….wow…it sure felt great to finally win!!  I am forever grateful for the wicked audience we had that night as well. You all rocked my world!

Nova Scotia Music Week was a fabulous time. I will say that my all time favorite moment was seeing Black Moor play on the after hours stage. Those boys sure can play!!  What a show.

I wanted to drop a quick note to all my fans and let them know that my little band and I are closing the evening tonight at Music Nova Scotia’s Battle of the Bands at the Rodd Grand Ballroom in Yarmouth, NS. We should be hitting the stage around 11pm. Please come out, have a great time and check out the other stellar bands in the lineup including Slowcoaster, The Stogies, Writer’s Strike and Three Sheet. We’d love to see you while we’re hanging out in Yarmouth!

We got some exciting news this week from Oz! My debut album Waitin’ and Seein’ is being released in store and online in Australia on November 19, 2010 through ABC/Universal. We loved our time in Australia in July and we love our Aussie fans! We are planning a trip back at the end of November to do some touring and as the dates are being confirmed we’ll be adding them to the tour section. We’ve also confirmed that we are playing the Peat’s Ridge Festival in December. Hope to see you when we get back to paradise!
